Plusoptix is the leading developer and manufacturer of handheld autorefractors which are used for vision screening young children to adults to detect common vision disorders including Myopia, Hyperopia, Astigmatism, Anisometropia, Strabismus and Amblyopia.
Lions BirghtSight makes their Plusoptix S12 range of devices available to Lions Clubs throughout the Multiple District for vision screening projects. The devices detect refractive errors and eye misalignment which are the most common causes of amblyopia (lazy eye).
Testing patients with these devices gives Clubs a good idea of who requires further professional intervention for the provision of spectacles. Many Clubs use our devices during free vision screening projects to identify those who require professional assistance.
Lions BrightSight was very fortunate in recently receiving a Funding Grant from the Lions Clubs International Foundation, USA, which enabled us to purchase two more autorefractors for Multiple District 410, thereby extending the capability of Clubs to simultaneously run more vision screening projects.
